Issuing Licenses
Issuing a license to undertake commercial activity in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, by meeting for all licensing requirements.
Requirements:
The documents and requirements are different from a legal form to another: sole establishment, service agent, limited liability company
Opening Procedures for a Sole Establishment:
- Filling a license application.
- A copy of the applicant's passport and ID card.
- (A copy of the passport and ID card of the managing director, if any)
- Approval of other governmental authorities according to the activity.
- Original lease contract, attested by the Municipality Department, and a copy of property title deed, after approval of the site by the Control and Follow-up Section.
Opening Procedures for a Service Agent Establishment (Professional – Commercial):
- Filling a license application.
- A copy of the applicant's passport, shown therein residence or visa details.
- A letter of non-objection from the sponsor, attested by the Chamber of Commerce, if necessary.
- A copy of the UAE citizen's (service agent) passport and ID Card.
- Approval of the activities in line with the scope of the service agent.
- Approval of other governmental authorities according to the activity.
- Original lease contract, attested by the Municipality Department, and a copy of property title deed, after approval of the site by the Control and Follow-up Section.
- Service agent contract, attested by the Notary Public.
Opening Procedures of a Limited Liability Company:
- License application for issuance of trade license.
- Valid passport copy of stakeholders.
- A copy of the trade license / commercial register, if the partner is a legal person (a company).
- Valid Emirates ID copy of stakeholders.
- A copy of valid lease contract and property title deed.
- A copy of signature authorization, attested by the Notary Public.
- A letter of non-objection by competent authorities, in case of an existence of an activity that may only be undertaken under a permit of such competent authorities.
- A copy of the approval of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs of the foreign investor.
- A copy of the memorandum of association, attested by the Notary Public.
- Passport copy of the managing director.
- Attestation of partnership contract.
License Renewal
Renewal of business practice license at the Department of Economic Development, for an aim of the continuation of the commercial activity of the investor, depending on the examination of the client's meeting of the necessary requirements for license renewal in terms of the lease contract and the required approval for purpose of renewal, in addition to verifying the satisfaction of any other conditions that have been added during the period preceding renewal.
Requirements:
- Filling license application.
- Submission of the original license to the Department of Economic Development and the chamber membership certificate if valid.
- Lease contract attested by the Notary Public.
- Renewal of partnership or service agent contract, if expired.
- Approval of other governmental authorities, if needed.
License Modification
Modification of trade license details, such as changing address, activity, trade name, etc.
Requirements:
Documents and requirements are different from a modification to another, for example, changing entity's address, changing the manager director, changing legal form.
License Cancelation
Cancelation of trade license by provision of details and documents to complete service procedures.
Requirements:
- Filling license application.
- Submission of the original license to the Department of Economic Development and the chamber membership certificate if valid.
- Letter of entity cancelation by the Ministry of Labor.
- Attendance of license owner.
- An announcement in an official newspaper for one week in case of sole establishment, and announcement of the dissolution of partnership for two weeks in case of companies.
Attestation of partnership dissolution contract by the Notary Public available at the Department.
